NOTES'RedFrame/White Light' had been inspired by an actual phone box used by the band outside The Railway Inn public house on the Wirral. The distinctive intro to the song comes from a Roland CR-78 drum machine (using the 'Rhumba' beat setting), a piece of kit that also provided the percussion to OMD's classic hit 'Enola Gay'. 'Red Frame/White Light' is slightly longer than the 7" version.
The sleeve design is printed on a flimsier paper than the sturdy card of the 7". The design is also subtly different from the 7" release. |
TRIVIAThe poor quality of the sleeves is probably a key factor in the rarity of mint copies of this release. |
